In July of 2022, the Doorway Project hosted an open mic night in collaboration with a group of young people from the Youth Action Board. This event featured artistic expressions and performances that created space for the voices of unhoused young people. Participants also showcased and sold their art pieces. As a social justice project, the stage was used to imagine a transformed world that centered the visions, hopes, and dreams of those impacted by systemic violence while humanizing the experience of housing insecurity.

All proceeds from the event went directly towards young people with lived experience of houselessness.
