LEARN PILLAR

The "Learn" pillar of the Doorway Project is dedicated to providing educational opportunities and fostering personal growth for both youth and young adults experiencing homelessness and students at the University of Washington. We emphasize bi-directional learning through speaking and learning opportunities in classrooms, at conferences, and during special events. This approach ensures that both the students and the community benefit from mutual exchange and growth.

A key component of this pillar is our partnership with the Community Engagement & Leadership Education (CELE) Center. This partnership coordinates and supports host organizations and Undergraduate Community-Based Interns (UCBI). The UCBI program creates partnerships between undergraduate students and nonprofit/public sector organizations engaged in community-led work, addressing power, privilege, and oppression.
