The Doorway Project aims to strengthen services for young people experiencing homelessness so everyone can access the resources and tools needed to thrive.

  • The Doorway Project is a state-funded initiative based at the University of Washington, working in partnership with University District service providers. Focused on addressing youth and young adult (YYA) homelessness, the project serves as a connector, fostering collaboration between community partners to provide comprehensive support and healing spaces. The Doorway Project centers the voices of YYA with lived experience, offering paid programming, growth opportunities, and connections to social services to empower them in achieving their goals. Guided by a healing-centered engagement framework, the project aims to create safe, inclusive environments where YYA feel supported, empowered, and valued.
