A group of young people from and around the U District called The Youth Action Board will be hosting an open mic night on July 30th 5-9pm. The event will feature artistic expressions and performances that create space for the voices of young people who have experience living on the street. Young people will also be showcasing and selling art pieces they have been working on. As a social justice project, we will use the stage to not only humanize the experience of homelessness, but imagine a transformed world that centers the visions, hopes, and dreams of those most impacted by systemic violence.
All proceeds from event will go directly towards young people with lived experience of homelessness.
